PARSIPPANY, N.J.— Degussa (www.degussa.com) announced it is now developing certified organic flavor extracts, including green tea flavor and organic peanut aroma, produced using supercritical fluid extract via CO2 technology. This technology produces ingredients that are free of residue and solvents, and that retain their efficacy; it also improves quality and results in higher yields. The company submitted to a facility audit to meet European Union regulation 2092/91 on organic agricultural products, which certified a functioning quality management system, proof of strict separation of conventional and organic products and proof that crosscontamination is prevented.
