Beta Carotene May Lower LDL Levels

BUENA PARK, Calif.--In a recent clinical study, it was found that beta carotene may reduce the level of low-density lipoproteins (LDL), also known as "bad cholesterol." Two hundred people were tested before and after receiving 4.5 mg of beta carotene for 45 days. Participants were divided into four groups: smokers, diabetics, obese people and a control "healthy" group.

In the high-risk groups, supplementation lowered LDL levels by approximately 20 percent. These results, sponsored by Nutrilite, have been submitted for publication. For additional information, visit www.nutrilite.com.
